Trailblazers are employer-led standards that recognise the skills and needs of your business. The standards have been designed around both competencies and technical skills associated within your particular industry sector. Programme length is a minimum of 12 months to maximum of 48 months.
Because the new standard is employer led it aims to put you in the driving seat for the training and assessment criteria that is relevant for your industry. Typically, the standards are broken down into training, on-site competency and end assessments and graded accordingly, ie pass, merit and distinction.
On completion, the apprentice will be awarded a Level 3 Apprenticeship which will include a relevant technical qualification. Trailblazer funding in the future will require employers to contribute to the cost of training of their apprentices.
