Global Training Solutions

To demonstrate our capability a typical 6 month programme at our training centre in the UK would include, but is not limited to the following:

  • NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations Level 2 or Diploma in Processing Plant Operations in a replicated environment
  • IOSH Working Safely
  • CIEH Level 2 Award in Manual Handling
  • ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills

Progression from these programmes could include, but is not limited to the following:

  • NVQ certificate/diploma in Processing Operations Level 3
  • Diploma in Process Engineering Maintenance Level 3
  • NVQ Certificate/Diploma in Processing Industries Operations Levels 3 & 4
  • NVQ Certificate/Diploma in Laboratory and associated Technical Activities Levels 2-4
  • NVQ Certificate/Diploma in Management levels 3 & 5

TTE is also able to provide English Language training and support prior to programmes being undertaken in the UK in line with Tier 4 Student Visa Application requirements. TTE are inspected regularly by the independent schools inspectorate for educational oversight to ensure that our programmes are appropriate for international delegates.

Accredited Short Courses

To reserve your place, please go to the Accredited Courses website, select your required course and complete the online booking form.

Although we offer value-for-money training, discounts may be available when group bookings are made.

The majority of our courses are delivered in our purpose-built training facility in Middlesbrough. However, we are flexible and can deliver some of the courses on-site, in the UK and overseas.

For courses booked using a purchase order, payment is required within 30 working days from receipt of the invoice. All other course bookings require immediate payment. We accept the following payment methods, credit/debit card, cheque, cash or BACS payment. Card payments can be processed by contacting the Business Development Team on +44 (0)1642 770310.

We can re-schedule training to another course date, subject to availability. This may incur a 15% administration charge. Full course fees must be paid for cancellations made within 20 working days of the course start date.

Hot lunches/refreshments are provided on all full day training courses, delivered on our premises.

Examinations are compulsory for courses accredited by an awarding body. Other courses may involve a practical/theoretical assessment. Please refer to the course description.

Each course delegate will receive a certificate after the course, subject to satisfactory completion and payment of the course fees.

Skills Assessment Centre takes place throughout the year. All applicants that apply for to TTE’s study programmes and apprenticeships are invited, by letter, to attend a specific date and time. You will be asked to bring with you:

  • Identification (ie passport / birth certificate)
  • National Insurance Number (if applicant has received it)
  • Copies of any certificates you feel relevant to your application

The assessment consists of the following topics:

  • Information Technology
  • Literacy
  • Mechanical Reasoning
  • Numeracy
  • Principles of Measurement
  • Spatial Relationships
  • Understanding Electrical Principles

Whilst at the Skills Assessment, all applicants are also tested for any potential colour deficiency.

Preferred dress code is smart/casual. Please allow 90 minutes for the whole process to take place.

TTE’s Study Programmes are accessible to learners of all academic levels.

You will be advised of which programme suits your learning style during the recruitment process.  The results of the Skills Assessment will be considered, along with your predicted or actual GCSE results.

Study Programmes Entry Requirements

Level 3 Study Programmes – Applicants must have GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English & Maths (and Science in some instances)

Level 2 Study Programmes – Offered to Applicants with GCSE Grade D/3 or below English and Maths

 Level 3 Apprenticeship Entry Requirements

GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English, Maths and Science.

As part of the Study Programme at TTE, learners who were not successful in gaining a GCSE C/4 in English or Maths are required to continue their education to improve these skills. It is a Government requirement that all 16 to 18 year olds should have or be working towards a C/4 or above in Maths and English.

The number of days you are required to attend TTE will depend on which Study Programme or Apprenticeship you are enrolled on.

For the Study Programmes you will be expected to attend TTE for 5 days every fortnight (term-time only). Once you are offered a place on a programme, you will be advised on which days you are expected to attend.

Hours of attendance are:

Start time:  08.30                 Finish time: 15.00

For Apprenticeships your attendance at TTE will depend on the training programme that has been agreed with your employer. You will be issued a structured timetable when you start your apprenticeship.

All training is undertaken at TTE’s training centre:

Edison House, Middlesbrough Road East, South Bank, Middlesbrough TS6 6TZ.

Learners are expected to make their own way to the training centre. TTE have a Travel to Learn Fund which is designed to help and support any learners who face financial barriers to participating in education and training at our centre. By train – the nearest train station is South Bank, which is approximately a 5 minute walk from our training centre.

By bus – the training centre is also on many local bus routes from Redcar & Cleveland, Middlesbrough, Stockton and Hartlepool.

By bike – if you are cycling to TTE, there are secure areas in which to leave your bike, whilst you study.

Travelling to and from TTE shouldn’t be an issue, which is why we‘ve teamed up with the area’s biggest bus and train operators to offer students FREE* bus travel 7 days a week and REIMBURSED weekday train travel to and from TTE. More Details.

Study Programmes can lead onto an apprenticeship. TTE have links with many local employers and work hard to identify as many apprenticeship opportunities as possible for learners on the study programmes.

Whilst studying at TTE, having a good attitude to learning, attendance and timekeeping are all very important key skills that can contribute to the opportunities that your future holds.

Yes, in some instances the qualifications gained at TTE can provide you with UCAS tariff-points, for example the BTEC Level 3 Diploma. More information on UCAS points.
