Engineering trainees onboard for MFC health checks

Posted 21st December 2016 By TTE Press Office

Hundreds of engineering trainees at TTE have boarded MFC Foundation’s Health Bus during a two-day visit, which helped to highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

The visit gave students at the South Bank-based training provider the opportunity to learn more about what constitutes a healthy lifestyle and undergo health checks that tested blood pressure, lung function, flexibility and body composition.

MFC Foundation was established in 1996 by Middlesbrough FC’s Chairman, Steve Gibson, to provide education and training to the Teesside community. Its Health Bus tours the area and aims to combat poor health as well as boost the confidence and self-esteem of those it supports.

Steve Grant, Managing Director at TTE, said: “The Health Bus gave our trainees a fun and engaging way to learn more about staying healthy and was very well-received by everyone at TTE.

“It’s important that young people understand the consequences that their current life-style choices will have further down the line.”

Paul South, Health Coordinator at MFC Foundation, said: “The Foundation is passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and it’s important that we provide people with the knowledge to make informed decisions.

“It was great to spend a couple of days with everyone at TTE – its trainees and staff were all willing to get involved with our interactive sessions and hopefully they took a lot of useful information away.”
