TTE supports growth of Middlesbrough-based electrical contractors

TTE has established a new relationship with a Middlesbrough-based electrical contractor with the recruitment of a new apprentice to support its workforce development.

 

Waymid Electrics Ltd has welcomed 18-year-old Ben Weatherill, from Stockton, who will work on a number of large commercial projects with the company and will join as a full-time member of staff after completing his apprenticeship.

 

Ben, who is studying towards an Extended NVQ Diploma in Electrical Installation, joins Waymid Electrics following two years on TTE’s Vocational Study Programme at its specialist training centre in South Bank, Middlesbrough.

 

The training provider runs programmes for disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Process and Building Services, all of which are easily transferred between different sectors within the industry. These qualifications can lead to a career in areas such as electrical engineering, fabrication and mechanical engineering.

 

In addition to utilising the industry-standard training facilities including simulators and well-equipped workshops, trainees also benefit from the training expertise of the TTE team, which is delivered to companies around the world such as BP and Marathon Oil.

 

Steve Grant, Managing Director at TTE, said: “Our students gain a solid foundation during their first two years in our workshops and classrooms, which they can then put into practice with their sponsoring company.

 

“The on-the-job experience Ben will gain during his time with Waymid will ensure he is ready to move straight into the world of work; this is why apprenticeships are an efficient and cost effective way of recruiting employees for the future.”
