TTE welcomes £15m devolution deal boost for Tees Valley

Posted 29th September 2016 By Elaine Galloway

TTE Managing Director Steve Grant has welcomed the announcement from Northern Powerhouse Minister Andrew Percy that £15m of government money has been directly transferred to the Tees Valley as part of regional devolution.

As a result, The Tees Valley Combined Authority will bring forward proposals to invest this additional funding, alongside matched finance from other sources, to deliver key elements of its Strategic Economic Plan, which includes supporting more young people to gain the skills required to progress into work.

Steve Grant, Managing Director of TTE Technical Training Group, said: “Creating a skilled workforce is essential to the future economic and social prosperity of Tees Valley and it is positive to see that this new funding will support training for young people.  This is an excellent vote of confidence in the area and the collective desire between the public and private sector to drive Tees Valley forward.”
