Science courses

The UK has a long and proud tradition of process engineering within the science industry and this offers an exciting opportunity for young people. As a science manufacturing trainee, you will be taught the practical and theoretical skills associated with the process manufacturing industry. You will learn about many subjects including process safety, process control, plant and plant services, plant maintenance and inspection, process analysis and chemistry.

To complement your practical skills you will complete a recognised academic qualification which will include maths, health and safety, science, chemistry and distillation. When assessed to be competent you will operate plant and equipment associated within the process industry sector. These are the technical qualifications that meet the required standard to become a science manufacturing technician in the process industry.
