TTE shoots and scores for local girls soccer team at annual football tournament

Posted 24th March 2017 By TTE Press Office

Trainees at TTE went head to head for a good cause, at its annual 5-a-side charity football tournament.

Releasing their inner Negredo, 25 teams entered the tournament at Goals Teesside and were made up of TTE learners from across its engineering training disciplines.

The second year Instrumentation team won the tournament overcoming the second year Mechanical team’s advances in the final, with a score of 4-2.

Each player at the tournament donated £2 to take part in the competition, which raised £400 and will be donated to Leven DFC girls under 12’s football team to fund new playing kit.

TTE Trainer Rory McIntosh, who organised the football tournament, said: “Our annual football tournament is always a huge success and the number of teams that got involved has almost doubled from last year.

“Teamwork forms an essential aspect of our trainees’ development and learning, so it was great to see that level of training transferred onto the pitch, albeit in a very different setting! It’s great to see so many people having fun at these events whilst remembering the important reasons of why we do them in the first place.”
